In October 2010 preliminary researches were launched in order to mark the scope and content of the urban transport projects, as well as the preparation of strategies, cost-benefit analyses, research of the ownership of the vehicle pool in each city, including research of the accompanying urban transport infrastructure. These activities are within the project, approved under OPRD Priority Axis 5 “Technical Assistance” titled: Development of documents, related to modernization and development of sustainable urban transport in the five big cities (Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Varna, Rousse and Pleven).

• Qualitative feasibility studies for each city are being carried out by external consultants and in accordance with the EC requirements as a part of the development of the modernization projects; It is expected that about 1,298,744 people shall benefit from the completed projects; 
• The JASPERS consulting team is providing technical assistance through institutional support for preparation of feasibility studies for projects related to modernization and integration of the public transport
